Unless you have some kind of power-tool and heavy equipment fetish—and power to you if you do—a longtime dealer’s new facility finally coming to fruition isn’t the sexiest news. But Midwest Boating Marvin Dufner and his main-man Jason Taylor, knowing your new digs will be done in time for the 2025 boating season is pretty much as hot as it gets.

The Lake of the Ozarks based-dealership broke ground on the new 12,000-square-foot space in September 2024. Completion for the Lake Ozark, Mo., location is slated for April 1. But it took years of jumping through permitting hoops and construction delays for the longtime Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats dealer for the new structure to get to this point.

Though it will be one building, the new space will have showroom and warehouse sides. The showroom will include sales and administrative offices, a conference room to host clients ordering new Nor-Tech models, a parts room and a break room. Equipped with four 15-foot-tall, 18-foot-wide high-tech glass doors in aluminum frames, the warehouse will boast a polished floor for displaying new Nor-Tech and Everglades models, as well as a variety of pre-owned boats.

The new Nor-Tech dealership facility at the Lake of the Ozarks is on track for grand opening this spring.

“We can display a 50-foot Nor-Tech in the warehouse and up to a 45-foot Nor-Tech in the showroom,” said Dufner, who plans to have a dealer/demo boat in stock at all times. “Everything takes a little longer than you think, and the pandemic added to that. It’s been a long time coming, but we’re moving now and we are excited to get this open for our new and existing customers.”

The grand opening for the facility is planned for early June. It will happen in conjunction with a Midwest Boating Center fun run on the Central Missouri waterway.—Matt Trulio
