This last weekend, friends and family came together for the Lake Cumberland Memorial Run in honor of Art and Melissa McMahan and Anthony and Tammy Reece, all of whom we lost last year.
But while a memorial run is understandably emotional, there was no shortage of joy for those that gathered in celebration of the love and happiness that the two families brought everyone on the many runs they participated in across the country.
About 40 boats showed up to the event organized and executed by family friend Tanner Howard and his family. And the run itself raised over $7,000 for local Jamestown Fire Department’s Lake Cumberland Dive and Rescue Team through donations and the sale of over 300 shirts designed specifically for the event.
There was no shortage of support, and while there are no certain plans for the continuation of the run next year, everyone is extremely happy that it took place and that everyone was able to honor the families with the activity that they loved the most. Boating.
A huge thank you to Jacob Davis of Lake Life Fotos for getting us all the great pictures.
