If you were ever in the market to pick up a piece of boat racing history, the upcoming Duemilla Route auction held by RM Sotheby’s may have what you are looking for. You’ll have to make the journey to Milan, Italy, but the items on hand may be worth the journey for the determined collector.
On the block are over 30 pieces of racing history, mostly Formula One type racing boats with a single offshore showpiece, the 1984 CUV Offshore Class 1 “Miura” Vee Race Boat sporting twin staggered Lamborghini engines. The Formula One boats too have their share of history in them, several sporting classic Mercury Outboard engines from a bygone era. The Auction will be held the 25th thru 27th of November.
