This past week we saw some big and impressive combinations of Boats and Cars together. On the West CoastDCB rep’d all of Powerboating at the Barrett Jackson Show in Scottsdale, Arizona and on the East Coast Larry Goldman of Xtreme Powerboats set up a huge and impressive display at this years Super Car Week in Palm Beach, Florida.
As the car guys drift buy million dollar plus catamarans they just don’t seem to get the awe and appeal as much as maybe we do. But when they see some of their favorite super cars are lined up to match and recognize the guy that owns the boat also owns these cars they seem to really stand up and take notice.
I have said before it has been a losing proposition to take boats to cars shows, but a winner to take cars to boat shows because the boat guys will buy the cars. Well, I have been proved wrong. DCB has done great at Barrett Jackson and the boat buying is really shaping up in Miami and the Beaches. It is also worth noting many new buyers are coming from outside the USA. Foreign buying power is really moving fast in Miami as noted in this report from the Miami Herald.
Larry Goldman told us the number of Foreign Boat Sales has really taken off in Miami and the buyers are drawn to the modern look and style appeal of some of the new boat designs. The first MTI Center Console that Larry pre-sold and then paraded around the Miami Scene has brought at least five subsequent sales from rich foreign nationals living in Miami at least part time and the numbers are continuing to grow.
