All in the Family: Taylor Scism Joins Staff of MTI

Spectators at the recent Lake of the Ozarks Shootout were delighted to see Randy Scism, president of Marine Technology Inc., participating in a high-speed run with his 22-year-old daughter, Taylor Scism. With Taylor at the wheel, the pair ran a 340X MTI powered by twin Mercury Racing 400 outboards.
Taylor has just started her third weekend as part of MTI’s Sales & Marketing team following the long Labor Day weekend, and she’s proud of the 116-mph run she made at LOTO with her dad throttling beside her—“my first official race,” she says. “It was a pretty good run for my first time…we did great compared to the other outboard boats in our class of the same size.”
In addition to her Sales & Marketing responsibilities, Taylor will be focusing on the social media side of the company, working with customers, attending boat shows, organizing MTI’s apparel supply “and helping everyone with a little bit of everything.” She will be working alongside MTI marketing manager Terry Sobo.
“We’re definitely growing,” Taylor says. “We’ve got customers all over the world and the country, and it’s really exciting to get to know new people in our MTI family.”
