Fishermen in the Philippines found the ‘ghost ship’ on Thursday, in seas off the southern island of Mindanao. Last seen in 2009, this sailor just made his latest and final appearance. His mummified remains, preserved by the salt and dry winds are in incredibly good condition. The reason for his death is unknown but investigators are working as we speak.

The man was identified to be Manfred Fritz Bajorat of Germany, based on documents recovered from the yacht, police investigator Val Warren Polancos said. Fishermen found the decomposing body inside the radio room of the yacht that was floating in the seas off Barobo town in Surigao del Sur province, 877 kilometres south of Manila, he added. Authorities were still determining the cause of the death, and have been in touch with the German Embassy for more information about the man.
