For years the Miami Boat Show Poker run presented by the Florida Powerboat Club has always been an incredible event and has always showcased the new boats displayed at the Miami Boat Show the week before the run.
This year the aftermath of hurricane Irma left the Florida Keys infrastructure in such disrepair Stu Jones and his team had to re-structure the event to an area that still had plenty of accommodations and water front venues. The Best Solution? MIAMI….. We live here, the boats are here, and Miami has some of the best powerboating in the world as we have customers and friends that come from all over the world just to “Go Boating” in Miami. With great new venues on the Miami River which also happens to be an area of town that is going through an explosive construction and revitalization phase, club members had a chance to visit these spots for the very first time.
Headquartered out of Haulover Marine Center, this years run saw about 50 registered boats run to various stops that did included a run to Key Largo for a lunch stop and party at Sundowners.
The group also had the chance to hang out like locals for an extended raft up party at the Hualover Sandbar and then back to Duffys Waterfront for another party hosted by the Florida Powerboat Club.
