We have a few more details to share on the new engine platform that will debut in Miami.
Making big power requires moving a lot of air. The air filter housing and the filter itself are no place to skimp on size. Take a look at this filter, and be advised there are two of them! A unique feature not seen on marine engines before is the placement of the throttle body inside the filter housing. This was done to mount the filter solidly to the intake manifold to help resist the g forces in a boat, which are constantly working on any overhung weight. The placement of the filter also reduces the overall length considerably by keeping the air filter housing within the belt track of the accessory drive.
