This is the future of boating in regards to policing, anti-piracy, and other law enforcement applications. Able to carry a four man crew, or none at all, this state-of-the-art craft carries a one-tonne payload and can operate entirely unmanned. When designing and creating unmanned crafts, whether its autos or boats, there are considerable obstacles to overcome. But the new Vector V40S puts everything to shame with otherworldly maneuverability coupled with its ability to surpass 100MPH on the water.

Did we say much about the elephant in the room, or should I say possibly in the middle of the road on the way to and from the boat show? Driving your car to the show could prove to be a harsh feat for many. The ability to move the enormous amount of people and traffic could be long and difficult. The show organizers, National Marine Manufactures Associations has set up water taxis, buses, and even has tenders taking you to the show, but even with all of this, the concerns remain high.

These concerns run over to the fact of getting vendors to the show on time to be there when you arrive.​

When you live someplace other than South Florida having the opportunity to get south and run your boat, plane, bike, or car to the Florida Keys for a few days in Late January is a dream.

The Florida Powerboat Club is dedicated to bringing you the best experiences possible when it comes to boating. But, they don’t stop there. FPC is also bringing you the opportunity of lifetime when it comes to the performance auto industry. Often support comes in waves when it comes to getting behind different events, but in the case of PBN the folks at BBlades have never waivered. A party is not just a party when it comes to MIAMI, it’s an actual event, an important fixture on the Miami Boat show experience.  When we reached out to Brett Anderson owner of BBLADES Propellers they didn’t have even the slightest hesitation. Before we could even express our thanks Brett pointed out that there are not that many opportunities in this industry that you can get involved with a brand that gives back so much to the boating community. Brett pointed out that if more companies got behind the events that bring the camaraderie of boaters together that more people would see why this is such a great environment for fun and enjoyment. This year’s Miami International Boat Show will hold special significance in the fact that Miami Vice star, James “Sonny” Crockett’s 1986 Wellcraft 38KV Scarab will be featured at the main entrance for all to see.

This famous performance boat that epitomized the action, adventure and thrills of the iconic 1980s hit television show is the one and only original “filming boat” used to hunt down and apprehend drug lords on the show. After extensive restoration over a period of many years, this multi-million dollar craft in perfect condition and one of the most iconic boats to date due not only to its famous background but because of its unparalleled craftsmanship and design. This craft is simply irreplaceable. It takes its rightful place as the most sought-after boat and collectible in history, verified with the original plaque from Universal Studios as well as the original certificate from Wellcraft.

The nostalgia overload doesn’t just stop there. Along with the Scarab, the show will also feature the accompanying Miami Vice Daytona car built by McBurnie and Carl Roberts. Have you ever tried booking a slip for the weekend? You probably had to do it days if not weeks in advance to make sure you had nailed down a guaranteed space. And even then it’s not 100% guaranteed that you’ll get what you were looking for… Dockwa, the 2014 startup by Mike Melillo is changing that.

The simple fact: Almost all of us who play around in the performance world are driven to WIN! Tommy Hoffstetter is the masterful brain behind everything at Chief Hi-Performance and he continues to push all the limits.

Since the beginning Powerboat Nation has followed the progress of Chief’s incredible engine builds. This past season six pairs of the new Twin Turbo Chief 1350s ran hundreds of hours with zero issues, no valve lashing, no service of any kind other than oil changes and they are all expected to keep running. The value of the this type of reliability is paid in trouble free boating and the crazy costs associated with some of the alternative OEM turbo offerings.

Now, thanks to the continuing efforts from Tommy and his team you can get 1890 HP at 6200 RPM from these engines on C16 and 1576 at 6400 RPM on 93 Octane pump gas from the local station. This incredible accomplishment had been done with painstaking determination and drive from Tommy. If you remember he went from 1350/1550 to 1350/1740 after writing new code and mapping plus a new turbo and now 1575/1890 again after tons of work on a new map and fine tuning the cam shaft details.
